At Culture Encounters, we believe in the transformative power of cultural experiences to enrich children’s lives and foster a more inclusive and empathetic community. Through our partnerships with local schools, Next Up, the Children’s Museum of Richmond, and other community-focused organizations, we bring engaging, culturally diverse programming to children and youth of all ages—from toddlers to teenagers.

Our carefully designed programs create opportunities for kids to explore, appreciate, and engage with diverse cultures in meaningful and fun ways.

One of our signature initiatives is CultureFest Fridays, held in partnership with the Children’s Museum of Richmond on the first Friday of every month. This dynamic event features live performances, art, play, and food tasting from around the world, giving families and children an exciting opportunity to experience global cultures right here in Richmond. Each month, a new culture takes center stage, allowing attendees to broaden their understanding of the world in an engaging, accessible setting.

We are also proud to offer enriching after-school programs in collaboration with organizations like Next Up and the Boys & Girls Clubs. These programs bring hands-on cultural activities directly into schools and community centers, helping children continue their learning outside the classroom. From exploring international art forms to learning about global traditions, students in our after-school programs engage with new perspectives while building confidence and creativity.

During the summer, our camps take learning to the next level. These immersive programs provide children with an in-depth exploration of different cultures through a variety of activities, including art, music, dance, and language. Our summer camps are designed to foster curiosity, empathy, and creativity, giving children the opportunity to explore the world without leaving their community.
