After-School Instructor
(Part-Time)
Culture Encounters is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit promoting cross-cultural appreciation and awareness. Through our partnership with NextUp RVA and local Boys & Girls Clubs, we provide after-school enrichment programs for middle school students in select Richmond Public Schools. Our flagship program, “Eat.Talk.Write.” engages and empowers youth through culinary writing workshops that introduce them to cultures from around the world. We are currently seeking Instructors to lead activities at various locations.
Responsibilities
- Engage students and encourage active participation in activities.
- Build positive relationships with students and site coordinators.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
- Implement lesson plans in a developmentally appropriate way.
- Provide active supervision and maintain a supportive learning environment.
- Serve as a positive role model and demonstrate professional behavior.
- Maintain accurate records and follow program guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
